An announcement about scenarios coming out for VS2PCG starting with this one listed in the article here. Scenarios are a very interesting concept and could add a nice bit of casual flair to the game. I don't think competitive players will really care about these and I'm not sure how well they will go over in the community overall, but only time will tell. I personally embrace the concept.

Super Awesome Games Post

"Hello wonderful community,

We've been working on a little something to tide you over until the next Vs. System set comes out.

We've put together several Vs. Scenarios, each of which has some new game rules and/or deckbuilding rules. Some are simple and some are more detailed.

We'll post a new Scenario every week or so.

Disclaimer: While Upper Deck has given us their blessing, these Scenarios are entirely being handled by us (the Vs. System designers). Please direct any questions to us on this thread.

Today's (debut) Scenario is themed around Valentine's Day. Check it out in the attached document!

Thank you,
Ben and Danny

Scenarios!

Scenarios to tide us over in between sets sounds like a great idea depending on the scenarios. This scenario, at least for me doesn't feel ground breaking but it is definitely better than nothing. Thank you for scenarios. And with no further ado, here is the first VS2PCG Scenario!

Vs. System 2PCG Scenario 1: Valentine's Day

Love is in the air and you know what that means - it's time for two Main Characters to have a night out on the town.*

Overview

Each player will have two Main Characters. If either one gets KO'd, that player loses!

Deck Building Rules

  • -Choose two Main Characters and build your deck to support them.

  • -Your Main Characters can be from the same team(good for team attacking) or from different teams (good for using a variety of plot twists).

Special Rules

  • -The "first" player places both Main Characters on their side, then the next player does the same.

  • -Main Characters level up normally.

  • -If either of your Main Characters gets KO'd, you lose.

  • -If an effect like Nebula's Underling needs to know something about your Main Character, you choose which one to use.

Variant

  • -For a longer game, a player stays in the game until both of their Main Characters gets KO'd.

*Specifically, a night out on the town where they battle against two other Main Characters.
