The fourth-wall breaking merc with a mouth is a MC to be careful around. You can never count him out of a fight. He can win against all odds by breaking the fourth wall and going after the player.
Level up (3) "Man, there's no one left to kill...": At the end of your turn, if all of an enemy player's characters are stunned, Deadpool gains an XP.
Deadpool needs to stun everything to level. This isn't the easiest task to perform in 3 turns in the game to level him. You need to have a good draw and a deck built to stun characters by any means possible.
Deadpool is a 2/4 with ranged which isn't the most aggressive stats out there but the 6 health makes him still have decent level 1 stats. Aggressive decks can still work with 2 attack which we have also seen from Storm MC Level 1.
Level 1 Power: Merc with a Mouth - Main : Characters on your side are lethal this turn.
First look at the fact it gives all of the characters on your side lethal this turn. Not many other level 1 MC's have an ability that affect all of the characters on their side (in fact this may be the only one). That is huge in and of itself not to mention lethal is usually a pretty relevant ability in VS2PCG.
Lethal is the ability that "When this character stuns a defending supporting character, KO the supporting character. When just the core set was out there were some multi health characters that were being played but now there are a plethora of multi health characters out there so the chances are greater that you will see them now.
Deadpool really does need this ability to level up against most decks as 2+ health heroes are ones that he will have to stun more than once to get rid of without lethal. With lethal it is much easier to keep up with your opponent and keep the pressure on them for not allowing you to stun their whole board and level up quickly.
Level 2 Power: "Oh, There's Someone! Hi There!" - Main : For the rest of the game, Deadpool can attack enemy players. (A player can only be attacked if all of its characters are stunned. While defending a player is a 0/1 with 1 health and counts as a supporting character.)
An alternate way to win the game is now unlocked once you use this ability. It lasts for the rest of the game so if you can't stun all of your opponents characters on the board this turn, you can still try next turn without spending another .
Killing a player rather than the MC gives you so much satisfaction as a player as your opponents main character could still be at full health at this point and you don't care. You've won by hard to pull off flavorful tactic in the game. Remember that you do have to level Deadpool MC up by stunning an opponents entire board 3 times, but to use this ability and be able to attack the player you will have to do it a fourth time. Remember that Deadpool is the only character that can see the defending player so keep that in mind.
With The Alien Battle Set, Deadpool has been able to work more coherently as a deck than he did previously. I have won several games by both the normal victory of KOing your opponents main character and killing the player with Deadpool.
You want to be able to level consistently and keep control of your opponents board at all times. Any extra effects you can get to stun or daze a character will aid in being able to get Deadpool MC XP. It isn't as easy of a task as it seems to stun your opponents whole board but with the right cards it isn't impossible either.
Supporting characters that also stick around for more than one turn on your side can greatly increase your chances of winning if their characters aren't sticking around for more than one turn often due to his first ability.
